Dr. Zalud is a Jacksonville native who grew up with a love for animals. She got her start working in the kennel right here at Companion years ago and knew from then on that this was home to her.
Dr. Zalud attended the University of North Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She was accepted into veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. After enjoying 2.5 years of island life and veterinary studies, she returned to the US for her senior year and clinical rotations at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Zalud graduated veterinary school in 2009 and immediately returned to Jacksonville to begin practicing. She worked for the first 4 years in emergency medicine, as well as doing relief work here at Companion. In December 2012, Dr. Zalud took over the business from Dr. Chambers. Dr. Zalud enjoys her free time spending time with her family and friends as well as her pets; Rascal and Nola.
Dr. Chambers graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, and has been in Jacksonville working here at Companion Animal Hospital ever since! She has a very spoiled dachshund named Opie and her cat Goober. When not working, Dr. Chambers enjoys swimming, cycling, and volunteering at her church and at Wolfson Children's Hospital.
Jennifer joined our team in 2006 as a receptionist and is now the office manager. She has 2 dogs Kilo and Keno. She is married to her wonderful husband James and has wonderful children. She enjoys her job and can't imagine working anywhere else. In her free time she loves to read, watches movies
Andrea joined our staff April 2015 as a receptionist. She has been in Jacksonville for 9 years. She attended Sanford-Borwn for Veterinary medicine. She loves to travel around on her bike to see the city.
Olivia joined our staff May 2015 as a kennel assistant but now has been promoted to kennel technician. She has 2 feline children. She has worked with animals for 8 years.
Ginger has worked here since August 2012 as a veterinary assistant. She has adopted many pets over the years, but currently only has her cat named Lola. In her free time you will find her walking, reading or playing tennis.
